Our Proud ‘What’s On 4 Junior’ 2013 Award Winners… And a new Royal Baby!

We are pleased to announce our 2013 Award Winners…!  Here at What’s On 4 HQ we are still overwhelmed at the fantastic response to the awards this year.  Like all the Imagevery best awards ceremonies there were tears, laughter, VIP guests, inspiring speeches, standing ovations and champagne at the National What’s On 4 Junior Awards on June 30. The awards were held at Brighton Racecourse and were hosted by TV star, presenter and mum of 2, Lucy Piper.  We were also delighted to welcome Sarah-Jane Honeywell from CBeebies, who presented the award to ‘Green Trunks Garden Centre’ (and their friendly reptile, Norman)!

We welcomed so many amazing and inspiring business owners, individuals and franchisees, all celebrating being recognised as the very best by the UK’s parents!   These awards were also our biggest and most successful to date so every finalist and winner should be very proud!

Now in their 7th year, our awards celebrate the best activities, classes and party providers from all over the UK, as nominated and voted for by the experts – parents and carers.  The awards were bigger than ever, covering 21 different categories and the big news this year was that a record 76,400 votes in total were cast – 60% more than in 2012!   This year also saw the highly successful launch of the What’s On 4 Junior awards in Ireland, and for the 2nd year running in Australia, making the awards truly international!

UK Parents Offer Advice to Kate & William in the What’s On 4 Little Ones Survey

The recent What’s On 4 Little Ones survey received responses from hundreds of mums throughout the UK who are keen to advise from their experience, one mum to another, at this exciting and critical time in any woman’s life.Image

Recent reports suggest that Kate is using Prenatal Yoga and Hypnobirthing in order to prepare for the birth of her first child. These birth preparation classes are just two of a growing number of support services being used by pregnant women in the UK, according to our survey.

We found out that new mums UK-wide would advise the Duchess of Cambridge to participate in Baby Activity classes as a way to meet other new mums, find support and help the development of the new Royal baby! There’s a wealth of classes and activities out there for parents and babies to enjoy together and the benefits to both can be enormous.

William should also take note! According to the survey not only are new mums and little ones increasingly enjoying and benefiting from baby classes, clubs and activities – dads are now getting in on the act too – relishing the opportunity for some 1-2-1 time with their baby and enjoying meeting other new parents not to mention giving new mum a bit of break!

Take a look at the full survey results here.
